If you are a woman considering breast reconstruction, you may want to know what you can do about scarring. The plastic surgeons at The Breast Center Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery will make sure you have complete aftercare instructions, so that you can do all that is within your power to soften the appearance of scars. We are also very excited to offer the option of embrace® scar therapy to women undergoing DIEP flap breast reconstruction at our practice.

embrace® is a state-of-the-art adhesive device to reduce the appearance of scars. Using an easy applicator, you apply one of the silicone sheets to the scar area and wear it for 10 days, at which point it must be replaced with a new one. After about 2 months, your scar therapy will be complete, and your scar will be significantly lighter, flatter and softer than it would have been otherwise. embrace® treats scars in 3 ways:

  • By relieving skin tension pulling on the sides of the scar
  • By stabilizing the scar and thereby protecting it from the stress of your body movements
  • By applying restorative, medical-grade silicone to lighten and flatten the scar

Our plastic surgeons are personally committed to ensuring you receive beautiful, natural results that let you feel feminine and confident. Find out if embrace® is right for you. Please call our Lone Tree, Colorado practice at (720) 457-4461, to schedule a consultation. We are proud to serve women from Denver and from across the state of Colorado.
