You may have heard of "gummy bear" or "form stable" breast implants. While other types of silicone implants contain gel with a consistency similar to honey, form stable implants are firmer. They are similar to a gummy bear. They maintain their shape, and the gel does not run or flow. In terms of a final result, form stable breast implants are much less likely to cause visible rippling or folding. And they still look and feel like natural breast tissue.

A recent study has found that Allergan 410 anatomical implants (the highly cohesive implants discussed above) provided the study participants and their surgeons with a high rate of satisfaction, and that they were a safe option.

The study included 212 women. Their mean age was 48.5 years. Over the several years in which the women were followed, the majority of reported complications were minor. To determine satisfaction with results, the researchers asked the study participants to rate their satisfaction on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being completely satisfied. The average rating was 4.83. You can read more about the study here and then schedule a consultation with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons to discuss which type of implant they recommend for you.
