What to Expect During Your Consultation
Knowing what to expect during your consultation will help you feel more comfortable when the day arrives. This initial visit is a chance to meet our surgeons and staff, receive individualized recommendations, and get answers to any questions you may have. You are not under any pressure to make final decisions regarding your reconstruction.
When you arrive, you will meet with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons. He will take the time to establish a complete picture of your current situation and your treatment history. He will also discuss your concerns and goals in detail to understand what you expect from the surgery. After a brief examination, your plastic surgeon will go over the options available to you. He will relate each procedure and technique to your body, giving you a realistic representation of what to expect. You will also have the opportunity to view before and after photos. From there, your surgeon will discuss the benefits and consideration associated with each choice, so you can begin to make an informed decision.
Next, you will meet with your Patient Navigator, who will start developing a treatment plan with you. She will go over the out-of-pocket costs that you can expect to pay, as well as insurance coverage and financing options. If you are ready to move forward, your navigator can coordinate surgery with your general surgeon, oncologist, and other specialists you may be seeing during this time.

There will be ample time for you to ask questions and talk about any concerns you may have. We recommend that you make a list of everything that you are curious about, including:
