Are the Breasts Symmetrical after Reconstruction?

If you have a unilateral mastectomy, in which only one breast is treated, then one of our goals as your reconstructive breast surgery team is to restore breasts that are as symmetrical and even as possible. Many women who undergo unilateral mastectomy decide to have one or more breast procedures performed on the remaining breast so that the results of reconstruction are closer to identical in each breast. These procedures include:

  • Breast implant
  • Breast lift
  • Breast reduction

During a consultation with one of our compassionate, experienced reconstructive breast surgeons in Lone Tree, you and the surgeon can discuss these options and what may be the best way to restore breasts that will make you feel confident and feminine. We are 100 percent committed to providing our breast reconstruction patients with all the information they need to make these important decisions about their bodies. There is no single approach that is right for each women, and we are here to help guide and support you as you go through the decision-making process.
